ZIP codes that include the Strip, downtown or large shopping centers log more calls because more people are there, not only because more people live there. Compare a ZIP code with its own prior weeks rather than with its neighbors.

About this data

Calls for service, not confirmed crimes

Each dot is a call that LVMPD dispatched or logged. A call records what was reported at the time, and many turn out to be unfounded or resolved without a report. Use the map to see patterns, not to judge a single address.

Which areas are covered

The map covers the City of Las Vegas and unincorporated Clark County, which LVMPD patrols. Henderson, North Las Vegas, Boulder City and Mesquite have their own police departments and do not publish this feed, so they are not shown.

Locations and timing

Addresses are block-level as LVMPD publishes them, and we place each dot at the coordinates LVMPD provides. LVMPD updates the dataset about once a day, so the newest calls are usually from the previous day. We check for new data every hour. Some routine call types, such as officer assists and lost property, are left off the map.
